Meet the Steering Committee

 

Co-Director: Crystal Clancy, MA, LMFT email

Crystal is an LMFT, Crystal was the mastermind behind our highly successful Daisy Dash 5K. She also serves on the advisory committee for Maternal Mental Health for the MN Dept. of Health. She became involved in Perinatal Mental Health as her journey to building a family came with both infertility and postpartum depression. Realizing how little help there was available, she decided to build a practice in these areas, and helped form PPSM. She is currently in private practice at Iris Reproductive Mental Health in Burnsville.

 

Co-Director: Lisa Cross, MA, LMFT email

Lisa is an LMFT and has a certification in PMAD treatment. Lisa was a presenter at this year’s Postpartum Support International Annual Conference. Lisa serves on the advisory committee for Maternal Mental Health for the MN Dept. of Health. She is leading the way for greater awareness of PMADs through obtaining a proclamation through Gov. Dayton each year to proclaim May as Maternal Mental Health Awareness. PMAD advocacy is near and dear to her heart, as she is a survivor of Postpartum OCD and had several miscarriages between the births of her 2 children. She is currently in private practice at Parkers Lake Psychological Associates in Plymouth.

 

Communications Director: Maureen Campion, MS, LP

Maureen is a psychologist and marriage counselor who specializes in supporting families through the early parenting years. She offers marriage and parenting classes at her private therapy practice in Richfield and writes a weekly newsletter- "Note from a Marriage Geek." Maureen is a founding board member of the Twin Cities Birth and Baby Expo.





Training Director: Samantha Huguelet, DPN, APRN, CNS 

Samantha is an advanced practice nurse specializing in women's reproductive mental health. She currently practices between Nystrom and Associates in Apple Valley and Iris Reproductive Psychiatric Clinic in Burnsville MN. Samantha also provides clinical supervision for graduate nursing students. She is an advocate for clients receiving appropriate, personalized and unbiased treatment for their individual needs.




Community Outreach: Bethany Kenny, MSN, RN

Bethany is a registered nurse who works with infants and adults in labor and delivery, postpartum, and in the NICU.  She is also a doctoral student at the University of Minnesota:  Twin Cities, working to earn a DNP in women's health.  She is passionate about promoting women's health and empowering them to seek wellness, especially during pregnancy and postpartum.  Having suffered from PPD and PPA herself, Bethany became involved with PPSM in order to assist other women with finding credible resources for identifying and treating PMADs.  She is thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful organization and to engage Minnesota communities in promoting perinatal mental health.


Secretary: Stephanie Slaughter, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac. emaill

Stephanie is licensed to practice acupuncture by the Minnesota Board of Medicine. Her passion is in helping her patients create a healthy balance in their body, mind and spirit, so that they may live a more satisfying and whole life. Stephanie has experience treating a wide array of health concerns, including: infertility, PMS and other menstrual concerns, menopause, digestive issues, chronic pain, headaches, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and more. She is the proud owner and founder of Healing Lotus Acupuncture in Minnetonka. Stephanie is our newest member of the PPSM steering committee. She joined the PPSM group in April 2014 to help spread the good word about the help PPSM can provide for struggling women and their families.


Helpline Director: Allison Peterson, MA, LP email

Allison Peterson, MA, LP, is a licensed psychologist. She has worked in the mental health field for more than 13 years in a variety settings, including residential treatment, day treatment, in-home therapy and outpatient practice. She specializes in working with young people with self-injurious and suicidal behaviors, and she is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and clinical hypnosis. She obtained her master's degree in counseling psychology from University of St.Thomas and her bachelor's degree in psychology from Viterbo University. Currently she is a member of Minnesota in Psychology.


Allison is involved in the postpartum community as a member of Pregnancy and Postpartum Support Minnesota, Helpline Director and facilitator of Circle of Moms at Amma Parenting Center. 



Volunteer Coordinator:  Katy Johncox

Katy is retail professional with a B.S. in Marketing and MBA from the Carlson School Management at the University of Minnesota.  After experiencing PPA, she began volunteering with PPSM through the Helpline as a peer support contact to reassure those who are suffering that they are not alone.  She joined the steering committee in Dec 2015 is passionate about promoting awareness and understanding of PMADs to moms and families through the work of PPSM.  

 

Membership Coordinator: Sarah Doll, MA, LPCC email

Sarah is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She has over 10 years experience treating adults, adolescents, and couples in community mental health centers, addiction centers, as well as in private practice. She specializes in helping women who are suffering with prenatal and postpartum depression and anxiety, miscarriage, and infertility issues.
