PPSM is sponsoring a Perinatal Mental Health and Psychiatry Training for mental health and prescribing professionals. This training will help you to better understand perinatal mental health complications including antenatal/postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD and psychosis. The training will cover risk factors, symptoms and interventions. It is ideal for mental health professionals, psychiatric prescribers, OB/GYNs and Midwives. This training will be live via zoom, and will not be recorded.

Topics include: Introduction to PPSM, Perinatal Mood Disorders, PMAD’s and Partners, Perinatal Loss, Suicide/Infanticide, Therapeutic Interventions, Local Resources, Psychiatric Medications in Pregnancy, Genetic Influences, Hormone Influences, working with patients of color, working with LGBTQ parents, and Psychiatric Medications in Lactation.

The training is scheduled from 8:00 am- 4:30 pm. Continuing education credits are 7.75 CME’s for $200.00 or 7 CEU’s for $150. Students may purchase a discontinued ticket for $75.00. There are scholarships available.

The training is facilitated by the PPSM board.

This Live activity, Perinatal Mental Health, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to  7.75 Prescribed credit(s) by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
