A Nesting Place

A Nesting Place is a group for new moms with infants up to one year and anyone in their third trimester of pregnancy. Mothers are welcome no matter where they live or delivered their baby. The goal of the Healthy Mom Safe Baby Program is to decrease prenatal exposure to substances, help moms become as healthy as they can be, and create safe homes. Participation is voluntary and will begin with moms meeting St. Luke’s Maternal Child Health Care Coordinator at a scheduled appointment.

Superior Babies Program Virginia, MN

In-home support and programming for pregnant women and new moms. Any woman who is pregnant, wants to have a healthy baby, and has questions or concerns about her chemical use is eligible to join the program, and can continue to participate until the child is two years of age; at which time the mother and child will graduate from the program.

Teenage Parenting Program (TAPP) – Itasca Co., Grand Rapids

For pregnant and parenting teens. The Itasca County Collaborative, partners with area schools to help pregnant and parenting teens earn credits toward high school graduation. Professionals present material that helps ensure that our students receive education in a variety of topics. Some topics include time management, SIDS, mental health, CPR/1st aid, healthy relationships, physical health, child literacy, and more. Pre/Postnatal Yoga – Wadena

FREE! Pre/Postnatal yoga helps to reduce stress and anxiety while increasing your strength and flexibility, which are beneficial for childbirth. It also helps improve sleep, decreases lower back pain and helps you learn breathing techniques that assist you during labor and delivery. Tri-County Health Care is excited to offer this class on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, from 5:30-6:30 pm. This class is free of charge to all expectant mothers and you don’t have to be a Tri-County patient to register. Tri Aquatics- Moms Course- Wadena

This 1-hour aquatic session will work to address a full body fitness education including low-impact aerobic exercise with stretching,strengthening and range of motion activities for the entire body. Aiming to reduce pain associated with later stages of pregnancy and improve on general stabilization as your body prepares to give birth to your child. *This is a free class for women who are pregnant. You don’t have to be a member of the wellness center or a Tri-County patient to register. Class size is limited to 6 people though, so it will be first come, first serve for pre-registration. New Beginnings- St. Cloud

New Beginnings is a 24-hour intensive residential program for pregnant women, new mothers and their babies. New Beginnings serves women ages 14 through 21 years of age, and can currently house up to a total of 16 women and babies.

Recovering Hope  Mora, MN

Residential treatment facility dedicated to providing individualized treatment for drug and alcohol addiction for women 18 years and older, pregnant women and women with children up to the age of five. Our facility has 108 beds and includes a licensed daycare facility.

Parents Who Have Lost a Child support group, meets the second Monday of the month from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wadena. Our area has had a disturbing number of children lost to miscarriage, stillbirth, illness, cancer, suicide and accidents. The purpose of this group is to provide a confidential setting for those who have experienced this type of loss to find support, share their story and learn ways to cope. Family Home Visiting Program – Olmsted Co.

Provided by public health nurses (PHNs), offers home visits to partner with and support families during pregnancy and parenting. The PHNs work alongside families to promote a healthy pregnancy, a positive parent-child relationship, knowledge of parenting and child development, parental resilience, and referral to resources that provide basic needs and social supports. Newborn / Postpartum Visits (aka New Baby Visits) are available to all families with a new baby. The nurse visits families in their home during the first two weeks after the birth to offer teaching and support related to care of the baby, postpartum recovery of mom, and family adjustment.

Father Project – Rochester

The Father Project serves fathers between the ages of 17 and 35+. Weekly parenting groups offer practical parenting skills and fathers receive support from other peer fathers in similar circumstances. Additionally, the Father Project offers one on one advocacy and case management and access to services including: child support, legal service, education and GED, employment and fun family activities. Nurtured Moms Group- Rochester

The nurture group is a supportive space for moms* to gather during the postpartum period and share in community while practicing skills in mindfulness and inner-kindness. Led by doulas and mental health professionals trained and certified in pregnancy and postpartum mental health our ongoing group here to guide and support you as you navigate your motherhood journey. *Designed for moms who are up to 9 months postpartum. Nurturing Healthy Families (currently virtual)

Nurturing Healthy Families is for expectant parents and parents with children under 12 months old. Classes will be relevant for single parents and those parenting together. Infants Remembered in Silence, Inc. (IRIS)

IRIS is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to offering support, education and resources to parents, families, friends and professionals on the death of a child in early pregnancy (miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, etc) or from stillbirth, premature birth, neo-natal death, birth defects, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), illness, accidents, and all other types of infant & early childhood death.
Support group: daytime group meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 11 am to 1 pm. Evening group meets the 4th Tuesday of the month from 7-8:30 pm. 218 Third Ave. NW in Faribault MN. There is no registration required and no fees.

Iris Advocate Program: For those who are pending a loss, or have experienced a loss during or shortly after delivery, assist parents with a variety of services, including explaining delivery options, acting as a doula (labor coach), assisting with creating precious keepsakes and memories. This includes bathing and dressing the baby, to taking a variety of pictures, taking hand and foot prints, castings and much more. (Currently available only in Dodge, Goodhue, LeSueur, Steele, Rice and Waseca counties in southern Minnesota).

Project Rachel– post-abortion support

A person involved with an abortion can feel a complex mix of emotions and feelings – anxiety, pressure, panic, guilt or loss.  If things aren’t going right in your life and an abortion is part of your past, healing can help.  Project Rachel is a post-abortion counseling and reconciliation program.   You will receive sensitive and confidential counseling and the healing grace of God through sacramental forgiveness. All faiths welcome. Call 1-800-222-5859 or any one of the Catholic Charities offices and ask to talk to someone about Project Rachel.  Counseling and support will help you move forward, joyfully renewed and reconciled with yourself, the unborn child, your family and community, and God.

Mom & Baby Virtual Connection – Ridgeview Health

Offers moms the opportunity to visit with a Ridgeview lactation consultant to get their breastfeeding questions answered, and connect with other new moms virtually. Thursdays, 10:30-11:30 am.
