I used PPSM to help find the support I really didn’t think I needed after my first baby was born about a year ago this March. I waited six months until I knew wasn’t myself, wasn’t happy in my role as “mom” and was struggling to cope with my emotions.

PPSM helped me find a psychotherapist I can trust and helped to be my support network I needed – to talk about being a new mom, a full time working mom, having a strong, healthy body, a supportive and loving wife, etc. I brushed off so much of what I was feeling initially as baby blues and I kept waiting and waiting for myself to be alright. After reaching out, I was immediately reassured and given a plan. This was one of the brightest days I can remember.

Now, I look forward to the milestones of my baby and look forward to building a larger family one day. This is something I never envisioned I’d be able to do and think about!

Thank you for everything you’re doing. Keep working with OBs and postpartum nurses. Make sure that mental health and mom self care is front and center during pregnancy and after. I had a lovely nurse at Fairview named Bethany who treated me with such kindness and really helped me feel supported in my early days at the hospital regarding mental health. That meant a lot.

Thanks for helping me be the best version of myself!
