Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders don’t discriminate. They happen to so many regardless of life circumstances, socioeconomic status, race or career. Those who are on the frontline are not immune from its devastating effects. To honor the loss of a family medicine physician, a member of our perinatal specialist directory, but more importantly – a wife and a mother, who died by suicide in 2021, we offer the Radhika Lal Snyder Postpartum Doula Program.

To support the emotional health needs of Minnesota families during the perinatal period, we are pleased to offer a program that provides postpartum doula support for families in need with in-home support for free to the family. We hope that in-home postpartum doula support will help to prevent future families from having to face the pain of loss that can result from untreated PMADs.

Donations made in Radhika’s name will go directly to fund this program.

These postpartum doulas have demonstrated perinatal mental health knowledge, have access to ongoing mental health training from a licensed clinician, and are supported with consultation while working with a family.

If you, your client/patient, or someone you know is expecting a baby or recently added a baby to their family and extra support is needed/anticipated, please complete this below application to be considered for this program. *Special consideration will be made for families that demonstrate need in the areas of financial hardship, known mental health concern, or extenuating circumstance (multiples, disabilities, medical complications, etc.).
